The New Flir K75 and K85:
SUPPORTING EVERY STEP OF THE MISSION—FROM CALL TO CLEANUP
Innovations in firefighting technology are promoting better strategies and making the fight against fire safer at all levels. That's because the high-tech tools firefighters can access today do more than help them see through smoke, navigate dangerous condition, and safely monitor a fire's spread: they can also make emergency operations more efficient, improve response times, and resolve situations faster.
While these advanced tools can range from infrared drones that monitor fire scenes to digital alert systems that monitor for fires, this article takes a closer look at Flir's latest handheld thermal imaging technology, which works in concert with its new Flir Responder App to support firefighters during every step of their mission.
Meet the New Kxx-Series
Launched this September, the new Flir K75 and K85 are vital tools that help fire crews plan their attack, monitor the fire's spread, and visualize the scene—all with consistent support before, during, and after the firefighting mission.
These thermal imaging cameras (TICs) offer higher resolutions (640 × 480 for the K85) and single-range dynamic gain to support faster and better decision-making, as well as integrated wireless connectivity that supports training, live streaming, media downloads, and camera management.
The single-range gain reveals dangers instantly when moving from cool air to extreme heat. By eliminating potential image freeze or delay in colorization due to range changes, users won't risk missing any critical information while working a fire scene.
Another on-board advantage: Search Mode and Detection Mode, which can provide faster insight into fire spread, victim location, safety hazards, and search and rescue operations.
Improved Safety, Efficiency, and Training
Flir TICs enhance firefighters' situational awareness and depth perception as they navigate smoky buildings, making incident responses more efficient. But the new Kxx-Series also provides real-time feedback and post-incident review, so fire crews have the critical training they need to work safely.

Solutions that put firefighters' needs first
With the K75 & K85 TICs, fire crews will experience premium image quality throughout the firefighting mission, with automatic scene adaptation and the new single-gain solution, which allows seamless operation without delays, image freeze, or loss of information.
Mission-critical reliability
Firefighters gain the advantage of outstanding high-heat performance and market-leading product quality in a proven, robust camera housing they know and trust.
Product excellence from call to cleanup
Designed with full attention to every phase of the firefighting operation, K75/K85 TICs enhance firefighter readiness by supporting pre-mission planning and post-mission insights.

App Support for First Responders
The new Flir Responder App offers fire crews greater control over their TICs, greater visibility during the mission, and most importantly, a greater opportunity for training before and after a fire.
At the fire station
Configure your camera and keep your camera current with over-the-air updates.
During training
Bridge the gap between the classroom and "live burn" training through wireless streaming from the camera to the app, providing visibility across wider groups.
After the mission
Easily transfer images and videos collected at the scene for analysis, reporting, and more training.

Available through the Apple Store and Google Play.
